Fullstack Kotlin Developer (Freelance, German speaking)

Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Initial 12-month contract (extensions expected, project runs for 5 years)
Location: Remote anywhere in Europe, with onsite workshops in Heilbronn approx. every 2/3 months
Languages: Fluent German, & B2 level English

What you can expect

• YOU design, develop, and implement both backend and frontend components

• YOU develop and maintain scalable backend services using Kotlin and Ktor

• YOU design and implement RESTful APIs for seamless communication between systems

• YOU work with MongoDB for data persistence

• YOU deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes environments

• YOU implement and manage OAuth for authentication and authorisation

• YOU support the development of internationalised and localised applications for different markets

• YOU collaborate with a global team in workshops, code reviews, and agile ceremonies

What you offer

• YOU bring 10+ years of fullstack development experience with strong hands-on expertise in Kotlin

• YOU have deep knowledge of Kubernetes, MongoDB, and REST APIs

• YOU have proven experience with Grafana (frontend and monitoring) and Vue.js (interfaces)

• YOU are confident working in complex, large-scale environments with high demands on scalability and performance

• YOU are fluent in German and comfortable working in English (B2+)

Nice to have:

• Experience with Solace for messaging solutions

• Knowledge of logs, metrics, and traces provisioning via Grafana

• Advanced Vue.js skills for user interface development

• Enthusiasm for architectural discussions and agile collaboration
